Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better user experience, and provide information to website owners. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them, and your choices regarding cookies.
How We Use Cookies
TCBinder uses cookies and similar tracking technologies for several important purposes:
Essential Cookies (Required)
These cookies are necessary for the website to function properly and cannot be disabled:
- Authentication: Keep you logged in and maintain your session
- Security: Protect against fraud and ensure secure connections
- Functionality: Remember your preferences and settings
- Load Balancing: Distribute traffic across our servers
Referral Cookies
If you arrive through a referral link, a small cookie (tcb_ref) remembers which link brought you here so the referrer gets credit when you sign up.
Local Storage (Not a Cookie)
Preferences like light/dark theme and display settings are kept in your browser's local storage on your device. They never leave your browser and are not sent to our servers with requests.
Analytics and Marketing Cookies
We do not currently set any analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent before any such cookie is placed.
Types of Cookies We Use
Session Cookies
Temporary cookies that are deleted when you close your browser. These are essential for maintaining your login session and ensuring secure navigation through the site.
Persistent Cookies
Remain on your device for a set period (typically 30 days to 2 years) or until you manually delete them. These remember your preferences and settings across visits.
First-Party Cookies
Set directly by TCBinder to provide core functionality and improve your experience on our website.
Third-Party Cookies
Set by external services we rely on to run the site, such as our hosting provider (Vercel) and authentication service (Supabase). We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies. These providers have their own privacy policies.
Specific Cookies We Use
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Keeps you signed in (Supabase session) | Until sign-out / expiry | Essential |
| tcb_ref | Credits the referral link that brought you here | 30 days | Functional |
Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You have several options to control and manage cookies:
Browser Settings
You can configure your browser to refuse all cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies and website data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
Third-Party Opt-Out
You can opt out of third-party cookies through industry opt-out tools like the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) or Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA).
Important: If you block or delete essential cookies, some features of TCBinder may not function properly, and you may not be able to log in or use certain features.
EU/UK Cookie Consent Requirements
Because TCBinder only sets cookies that are strictly necessary for the service to work (sign-in session and referral credit), no consent banner is required under the ePrivacy Directive or UK PECR. If we ever add analytics or marketing cookies, we will ask for your explicit consent before placing them and update this policy first.
Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want to be tracked. Currently, there is no industry standard for how to respond to DNT signals. Since we set no tracking cookies, there is nothing DNT would change today.
Mobile Devices
Mobile devices may use advertising identifiers instead of cookies. You can control these through your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Advertising; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Please review this policy periodically.
